Donn Ann Weber - Pastor

Donn Ann Weber has been the pastor at University Heights since June 2007. She is the first clergywoman to be appointed to the church and is delighted to serve in a long line of distinguished pastors appointed to University Heights.  Donn Ann is an ordained elder in the North Georgia conference who has served large and small membership churches in the Atlanta area. She has a BA in Sociology from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, and a Master of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology at Emory University. Donn Ann has served in leadership positions on various district and conference committees. She has also served as the corporate secretary of the North Georgia Conference since 1996 and as a member of the bishop’s extended cabinet.

Donn Ann is married to Ken Weber. They met at a church youth Valentine Party when they were in junior high school in Irving, Texas. Donn Ann is originally from Texas (and enjoys being a native Texan!); she has three sisters and one brother who reside with their families in Texas. Ken, originally from St. Louis, Missouri, has one sister who also lives with her family in Texas. Family stories sometimes find their way into sermons so you get to know these folks too! The Webers enjoy traveling, watching old movies, eating at “Willy’s” and visiting with family in Texas and Washington.

Ken is President and CEO of Wesley Woods Senior Living, Inc. and an active leader in several organizations in the field of aging. He has also served in various local church, district and conference leadership positions, including as an at-large member to the North Georgia Conference. At University Heights, Ken is a Nurture Team leader, teaches children’s Sunday School, and sings in the Chancel Choir.

Donn Ann and Ken have one daughter, Kathleen, who is a United Methodist clergywoman serving in the Pacific Northwest Conference. Kathleen graduated from Fernbank Elementary, Druid Hills High School, and Emory University. They have many fond memories of afternoons in the University Heights community when Kathleen’s team practiced soccer at the Laurel Ridge playground many years ago.
